FIRST GRADE ADVENTURES IN READING

Last week in Mrs. Whitlock’s Adventures in Reading club, students practiced Reader’s Theater plays together and then made placard signs for their “costumes.” Students enjoy rehearsing, practicing intonation, and then sharing their play with the rest of the group. We also enjoy transforming our ActivBoard into a setting that corresponds with our play. These first graders are becoming stronger readers with great presence as they practice Reader’s Theater!

Spanish Class Field Trip Was Lots of Fun!

Students had a lot of fun during both shows (Latin America Festival & Soul of Spain) today. They enjoyed an introspective journey to the Hispanic nations of the Caribbean, Central and South America as well as Spain. Students not only watched these wonderful dances, but they also participated actively by coming up the stage and follow the steps of the wonderful dancers.
